Colonel Daniel McPherson, 307th Medical Squadron commander

Col. Daniel McPherson is the commander of the 307th Medical Squadron, 307th Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana.  In this capacity, he is responsible for ensuring medical personnel have received the appropriate medical readiness training to support the mission of the Air Force Medical Service, as well as ensuring all 307th Bomb Wing personnel are medically fit to fight.

Col. McPherson was born and raised in Louisiana.  After graduating from Captain Shreve High School in 1988, he enlisted in the Louisiana Army  National Guard.  During his tenure in the LANG, McPherson served as an M1-Abrams tank commander and platoon sergeant during Operation Desert Storm. In 1994, Colonel McPherson earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Biochemistry. He graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1999 and earned a direct commission from the Air Force Reserve in 2006.  Lt. Col. McPherson has served as commander of the 307th Medical Squadron dental flight for the past 14 years and is the owner of a general dentistry practice in Shreveport,Louisiana.
