Col. Corey B. Hancock is Commander of the 343rd Bomb Squadron, 307th Operations Group, 307th Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. As commander, he leads a 31-member conventional and nuclear B-52 Stratofortress classic associate squadron. Additionally, he ensures effective training and combat readiness of Air Force Reserve Command’s only nuclear strike squadron.
Lt. Col. Hancock is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He earned his commission in 2003 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. While there, he earned a degree in Political Science. In 2005, he earned his wings from Undergraduate Pilot Training. He also has a Master of Science degree in International Relations in 2010.
Lt. Col. Hancock has over 4,400 flight hours of conventional, nuclear, reconnaissance and training experience with 515 combat hours, deploying in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn. Additionally, he was selected to be a Presidential Advance Agent, where he coordinated and facilitated worldwide official travel for Air Force One and Air Force Two. Prior to this assignment he was the Chief of Inspections and Executive Officer for the 307th Bomb Wing. In this position he overaw regulatory guidance and compliance for all 307th BW units located at Barksdale AFB, La., and Dyess AFB, Texas.
