Lieutenant Colonel Leo J. Kamphaus, Jr., is Commander of the 307th Maintenance Group, 307th Bomb Wing, Barksdale AFB, La. He serves as the senior air reserve technician (ART) responsible for providing daily program management, direction and guidance to 625 ARTs and traditional reservists and 250 active-duty Air Force personnel dedicated to the repair, inspection and maintenance of eighteen B-52 aircraft.

Colonel Kamphaus was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., and graduated from Knoch High School in 1981. He attended Air Force Basic Training in July 1985. He completed Officer Candidate School, McGhee Tyson Academy Military of Military Science in 1998 where he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. He has been assigned to numerous maintenance officer positions throughout the United States.
